| Sites for BAC museum being discussed by steering committee (4/2/04) | |
|
The newly-appointed steering committee, consisting members of the Bristol Aero Collection, Airbus/RR/BAES, and South Glos, have started talks about the possible location of the new museum for the BAC and of course BOAF itself as the centrepiece. BBC radio Bristol reported this afternoon that the former site of the Dave & Busters, adjacent the Warners Village Cinema complex in Cribbs Causeway, was being considered as a possible site. According to the report this site is ready for a new tenant now as opposed to the two-year lead time being quoted for most purpose-built sites in the area, the major concern being the welfare of our Concorde as it is exposed to the elements outside in the cold and rain. The steering committee meet this week to discuss a way forward for the plan. Three other possible sites have been identified - Two at Airbus site and one at Rolls Royce. One of the Airbus sites is at the Palm Beach area of site, to which access could be made from Highwood Rd. |
