Last flight commemorated in Christmas lights in Yate (21/12/04)

The last flight of Concorde - the flight into Filton of G-BOAF on 26th November 2003 - was recreated near Bristol in lights this week. The colourful display is being shown in two houses in Yate, Bristol in a road called Edgeworth.

The town was home for thousands of the workers on the Concorde project, and the display shows that there is still a great affection felt for Concorde and Bristol's other engineering triumph- Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge in the area.

A neighbour told speedbirds.com that a steady stream of traffic has been pouring into Edgeworth to catch a glimpse of the display, from dusk 'til midnight. In fact there were at least three visitors during the taking of the photos above.

The people behind the display are collecting funds towards local charities and the display can be seen until the new year.
