BBDG
takes a peek outside at her new neighbours - the European Airways' 747s
having
their engines refurbished/replaced - in readiness for her journey to Surrey's
Brooklands Air Museum in the coming weeks.
In
a rare appearance, minus nose cone (which has been found and is already
at Brooklands), she looks the worse for wear after years of cannibalisation
by BA.
BBDG
was the second of two British production aircraft never to see passenger
service, and instead became an important tool in Concorde's Flight Development
and Certification programme in the 1970s.
She
has been precured by the Museum at Brooklands, and is due to be 'trimmed
down' before being taken by road to Surrey in the next couple of months.
The
EAL 747s are all model 747-200s, and are in Bristol for Engine refits.
747 Photo 1 shows one 747 - minus engines one and four. The other two
await the same treatment on the tarmac.
